Can you improve thinning hair with hair plugs
Thinning hair can be improved by hair plug transplantations, but not in every case.
Hair plug transplantation actually works best for people suffering from male pattern baldness, hair loss resulting from a trauma, burning or other similar types of hair loss. The hair plug transplant is not recommended as a thinning hair treatment for those ladies suffering from typical diffuse hair loss, which is more of a hair thinning and hair volume loss on the top of the head.
The reason why hair plug transplant is more successful in the first case, is that usually men (and in some cases women) suffering from male pattern baldness loose the hair on the head crown and the hairline, while the remaining hair on the sides and back is healthy. This will allow a plastic surgeon to be able to explant healthy follicles and grafts of hair plugs from the healthy and stable region and implant them in the balding area. If the surgery is performed properly and the necessary post op hair care is taken, there is a very large chance that the newly implanted hair plugs will start growing their own new and healthy hair.
While this is not a case with the female pattern boldness, where there is a general hair thinning, which means that the hair follicles are becoming smaller and dying off, and there is no chance of finding healthy ones to be successfully implanted.
